Shopping for mom is fun. I love to buy my mom gifts. Mostly because I know that I am shopping for myself as well – we kind of like a lot of the same things.

We certainly don’t limit ourselves to the types of gifts that we get each other either.

From beauty, to household stuff, to clothing. We really just got good at seeing something and buying it for each other.

Growing up, my parents always went out of their way to make Christmas and birthday gifts special. As a mom now and as an adult with income, I like to return the spoils on them as well.

I have started my Mother’s Day shopping already because I have not seen my mom but once in the past 14 months. That is unheard of for the two of us so I am stockpiling the spoilage.

For the mom that doesn’t get a full hot cup of coffee

Wowza! These mugs are referred to as the “magic mugs” in my house. My husband bought these for me for Christmas. Holy smokes these mugs are amazing.

The double lined wall helps retain the heat of the coffee/tea for an extended period of time.

As my husband likes to tease, if it’s not nuclear hot, I don’t want it. Well, now my coffee stays nuclear – And you know where I got that trait? MY MOM!

Sticking with the double walled theme and the flip side of the clock………

no more drippy condensation and paper towel lined wine glasses!

At the end of the day, I would pour myself a glass of wine with ice, get a paper towel and wrap it around the glass and then sit and sip.

Cumbersome and annoying, once again, my husband to the rescue. No, no – HE’s not cumbersome and annoying (occasionally) – the glass is silly. But damn, he’s a keeper.

He’s had a set of the double walled whiskey glasses for quite some time. The ice doesn’t melt nearly as quickly and the whiskey stays cold.

Guess what my new wine glasses don’t do?

And no more paper towel abuse. Don’t need no stinking coaster either. Sweet!

My momma lives in the desert so this is going to come in really handy. Especially when I go to visit and I don’t have to complain about paper towels.

This list of gifts is just getting started – so hold on!

Just because

This is ridiculously silly and I don’t care.

My Mother in Law only breaks her diet for Peeps!! Which, of course, was much easier when Peeps were only available at Easter.

Now we really do go out of our way to NOT buy them as a gift for her.

This has to be the most amazing shower cap I have ever seen. And because she is a HUGE Friends fan AND has quite the head of hair on her, I think we have a winner here!

Skylight Picture Frame

This picture frame is outstanding! We bought one for both our parents with the additional subscription (which may or may not be worth it – we’re only 3 months in)

Both of our families absolutely LOVE this picture frame. Pictures are sent to the frame as if they are texted and uploaded immediately. You can send video, pictures and captions. You can even make comments on pictures that are already in the frame.

The beauty of this is that my mom doesn’t have to try to show my dad a picture through her tiny phone screen anymore and they enjoy looking at the pics all day.

At this point, I am sending more pics of my fur baby than my real life human giant babies. They don’t pose for anything even if it is for their grandparents?!

Pajamas

I know, I know. Pajamas seem so obvious. But I was recently gifted a pair that is so comfortable that even in the dead of winter, I am wearing them, short sleeves and all.

The fabric on these jams are so damn comfy. And breathable. And soft. I don’t really rave about clothes all that often, but HOT DAMN these are great PJs.

The way this winter is going, I had relied heavily on my ear bags , yes ear bags, to keep my ears protected. I am not wearing a stinky hat and getting sweat rings around my head. I have bangs!
