It’s like reverse Jenga. The pieces are all over the table and now I am putting the game together. Ready to start the game. Filling in the holes that were missing.

Every day I read an email or a blog post, another piece lines up to make this stucture.

Understanding the premise and then utilizing it is going to be work.

A few weeks ago I wrote about sucking at blogging. I may think I do for quite some time still.

But I have a solid plan now. I can really see the end game.

Not much has changed as far as the beginning of this journey started. I am still all about the woodworking and really getting the business off the ground.

I want to continue to document the cooking. I love making the recipes. Having an excuse to make a giant mess in the kitchen is always fun.

The layout has only changed a little around here. Our main pages are the woodworking projects, recipes, blog and what really appeals to me, Long Island Maker Moms.

Something about this page really speaks to me.

Recently, and I don’t remember where, I saw a hashtag that read Community Over Competition. #communityovercompetition

All I could think about was how I could help other moms as well as myself with a page like this.

There are so many moms with so many talents – right here in my neighborhood to start! Why shouldn’t I help them – even if it only brings 1 sale? It may be the one sale that encourages them to keep going!!

At the same time, I have a chance to increase my viewers to the website. Not going to lie. I thought that this was a great way to increase my page views while helping other moms out at the same time.

The kinks aren’t all worked out yet. I’m going to need time and patience to get this idea off the ground.

Fortunately, I have great, creative friends that have a flurry of different businesses that can be featured.

I have found myself reading consistently. My SEO seems to be improving a bit. Backlinks, pingbacks and Long tail keywords are still a stretch for me.

It’s a work in progress.

I have backlinked to several websites in previous posts and I’m not about to stop now.

https://school.bloggingfornewbloggers.com/a/aff_mzn7xthf/external?affcode=223291_fpr_uqkp Blogging for New Bloggers 5 Day Free Course was extremely helpful. I joined their Facebook page as well https://www.facebook.com/groups/bloggingfornewbloggers. The two sisters (and sister in law) have quite the following and are so gracious with the amount of information they share. The amount of free training that is available is amazing.

Sasha Lassey -Join her facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/groups/bloggingbabescollective I’ve mentioned her before and I will continue to do so as I continue to learn from her weekly. Such detailed help and fully explains what she’s talking about – pingbacks to different posts that explain different terms more. Full of so much information and free material. https://everydayshessparkling.vipmembervault.com/af/437115/1

With the ability to use backlinks (an incoming hyperlink from one web page to another website) and pingbacks (an automatic notification sent when a link has been created to a person’s blog post from an external website, allowing a reciprocal link to that website to be created), I can continue to refer to other lessons learned.

I try to keep track of repeated names and websites that seem to connect in lessons.

Many bloggers collaborate which is great. It’s definitely a way to gain traffic as well. In the future when I have more to offer, I hope to go down that path to add more backlinks.

Personally, I am a pen and paper person. I have a notebook specifically for writing things down.

The amount of open windows from all of the click throughs is crazy. I look through my notes and I can see how to connect the dots.

Overwhelming for sure. The amount of ideas is plenty. Time, still not my friend. LOL!

Patience is still something that is not my friend. Frenemies. That’s what we are.
